SB410.net is the website for
Starbase 410 a Science fiction and Fantasy club based in Cambridge, England.
Starbase 410 was founded in 1999 and is still going strong today. What
started out as a purely Star Trek club has gone from strength to strength
and has evolved into so much more. We now incorporate all Science Fiction
and quite a bit of Fantasy within our mandate.

Did

While some of you went to Collectormania I went to collect a car &
picked up my new sparkly Fusion which is lovely &
James got his new Kawasaki so all happy in

It doesn’t seem very long ago when we
were looking forward to our inaugural meeting and commissioning Starbase 410
in front of the cameras of ITV. We
have seen a lot of members come and go but I am pleased to say there are
still a few of the original crew left.

Next Month's
Meeting |
This months theme is Time Travel, so we're covering shows like Dr Who
(obviously), Quantum Leap, Time Tunnel, Futurama but time travel also
features in other shows like Star Trek, Torchwood, Babylon 5 so they're
included as well along with films like The Time Machine, Time Bandits and
The Back to The Future Trilogy.
This month we also have a guest speaker, Keith Batt will be joining us to
talk about working on Star Trek Of Gods and Men. Keith is a former member of
SB410 and the USS Lutonia, he has been able to fulfil his dream of acting in
Star Trek along with many other things. He will be filling us in on what
he's been up to as well as showing an episode of Star Trek Of Gods and Men
and showing us some of the props he has from the show. Plus he also makes a
really mean Klingon.
We will be having a quiz on Time Travel brought to us by our resident Time
Lord The Inquisitor, so expect some tough questiions.

Last Month's Meeting |
Last month was our AGM and BBQ (more of a George Forman really). The
committee were re-elected en-masse as no one else really wanted the jobs.
Much food was eaten and as Emma forgot to do the quiz a sheet of paper was
passed around and members were asked to write up to 3 questions each. We
then had a battle of the Sexes quiz which despite the men having written
most of the questions was won by the women probably because Emma insisted
that the authors of the questions were not allowed to answer their own
questions.
It was also announced that the Cocktail Party will double up this year with
the Halloween Party and have a slightly Gothic Feel to it and in July 2009
the committee are handing over to the members for a members run meeting. |

Ultimate Ruler Campaign
Launched at our April meeting the Ultimate Ruler Contest is now well
under way. The Election will be contested by two candidates, Harold
Saxon aka The Master and Nathan Petrelli aka Sylar.
Online voting is up and running along with all the campaign speeches to

Cocktail Party
DATE ANNOUNCED 25 OCTOBER 2008
ticket price £20
This years cocktail party will take the form of an Inaugural Ball for
the winner of the Ultimate Ruler Contest. We are also running a cocktail
making competition and intend to serve the cocktails at the party.
As usual we will be raising money for The Children's Acorn Trust.

Cocktail Competition
We want you to create an original sci-fi based cocktail for this years
cocktail party. There will be a winner from each category, Alcoholic and
Non-Alcoholic, and all palatable cocktails will be served at the
cocktail party. The prize in each category is a £5 voucher (yet to be
decided).
Rules
1. All Ingredients must be readily
available.
2. It must be, as far as you are able to know, an original recipe.
3. The cocktail must be named in a recognisable sci-fi vein.
4. The cocktail must be presented in a 500ml bottle with label.
5. The recipe must be presented on an a4 sheet of paper as if it was the
page from a recipe book.
6. Entries will be judged primarily on taste but presentation will
factor in the event of a tie.
7. The committee’s decision is final.
8. Judging will take place in July at a secure location.

Starbase 410 is a
non-profit making club for fans of Sci-Fi who meet regularly once a month to
exchange ideas and have fun.
Most of the contributions to this site have been made by members and all
original articles, stories, drawings and cartoons are copyright to the club
and its authors. Permission to use these items is granted, providing an
acknowledgement to source is used.
