About The Admiral

NAME: Vice Admiral Anarita Jat
POSITION: Commanding Officer of Starbase 410
BRANCH: Starfleet Intelligence

Place of Birth: Trill
Year of Birth: 2346
Parents: Wilsem and Margita Tehamus.
Parents Occupations: Mother: Schoolteacher Father: Ambassador to Kronos - died at Khitomer 2351

Anarita joined Starfleet at the age of 18 in 2364 and graduated with degrees in Xenobiology, Stella Cartography and Navigation.

While she was at the Academy her name was changed from Anarita Tehamus to Ann Thomas for ease of pronunciation and spelling. Anarita left the Academy with the rank of Lieutenant and was recruited by Starfleet Intelligence. She went many secret missions which are still classified. In 2372 she joined the Trill joining programme.

It took four years of training and evaluation, including rigorous trial by Curzon Dax. It was Curzon who recommended that she should be the new host for his friend Anturun Jat, who had died after a serious fall down some stairs. Ann changed her name back to Anarita and assumed the second name, by Trill custom, to Jat. After 'Joining' she returned to Starfleet Intelligence to resume her career.

With the commissioning of a New Starbase in close proximity to the Klingon Empire and the war with the Dominion. Starfleet felt it was necessary to appoint a Commanding Officer with unusual skills. Anarita was promoted to Captain and duly appointed Commanding Officer of the newest and most technologically advanced Starbase ever to be commissioned in the Federation.

Because Anarita needed a team she could rely on, she was able to pick her own Command Team to some degree. This meant that the Starbase would still function efficiently even when she got called away on the occasional Secret Mission. She chose the Vulcan T'Pina as her First Officer, who despite being disabled at Wolf 359 also had unusual but valuable skills that would be needed.

Through her symbionts association with Dax, Anarita had got to know several Klingons and a word in Gowrons ear got her Ke'reth Zantai Makura. Through her other contacts in Starfleet Command she was able to secure Mark Swan, a hot shot lieutenant with good ideas, a sense of humour and boundless enthusiasm from USS Alexandria. To fill the void in Starbase security, Lieutenant Commander K'SQ'qwa' SuDs' qan'ya', a highly recommended and experienced Starfleet Klingon Security Officer from Starbase 401, was appointed Chief of Security. Finally, she requested the Starfleet Intelligence Ship USS Rage to be placed on attachment commanded by a young Captain Leigh Brown. Thus, her team assembled, she was ready to take command.

Previous Host: Anturun Jat - a male and also a Peace & Hostage negotiator. Close friend and colleague of Curzon Dax. Awarded order of the Bat'leth. Died aged 62.
