Ann is the Commanding Officer of Starbase 410 and her blog takes the form of The Admirals Log that is published each month in the newsletter. It tends to be a bit more club related than either Lisa's or Emma's blogs.

June 2008
Hello everyone
It doesn’t seem very long ago when we were looking forward to our inaugural meeting and commissioning Starbase 410 in front of the cameras of ITV.  We have seen a lot of members come and go but I am pleased to say there are still a few of the original crew left.  Today we have been going 9 years and next year sees our 10th Anniversary celebrations and your committee are planning big celebrations.
In the meantime we have our 9th birthday and our AGM today and I hope everyone enjoys it.
We have a couple of announcements to make.  This year the cocktail party and Inaugural Ball for the Ultimate Ruler will be on 25th October.  It was to have been Halloween Party but we couldn’t fit in another date so it made sense to have it then.  We will be running the Drazi Points competition again but this time Emma and I will be the leaders so she won’t get away with as much as she did a couple of years ago.  We can have a Gothic feel to the party to allow for Halloween
Don’t forget your cocktail for the party and to vote for the Ultimate Ruler on the website.  I am sure Emma and Lisa will do their best to persuade you to vote for their candidate.
Next year we will be holding a big 10th birthday party on 20th June which will be the anniversary of the day we started.  Plans are already underway but any input from members will be welcome.
I know Emma has but has anyone else noticed the adverts using sci fi lately.  First there was Specsavers with their Thunderbirds ad having Virgil flying into the sunlight and dazzling The Hood because he wasn’t wearing photo chromic tinted glasses.  Then there is the Direct Line Insurance where the guy is attacked by uninsured drivers namely aliens in their space ship.  But my favourite has to be the Drench advert with Brains from Thunderbirds dancing.  I thought it ws very clever.
I hope everyone has a good time at the meeting and it just remains for me to say
HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY STARBASE 410
May 2008
Hello everyone.
First of all I would like to welcome Kevin Chapman our newest member to the club.  Kevin came in March to check us out and then returned last month and joined as a full member.  You are very welcome Kevin.
I hope those that were away enjoyed their break and those who have been ill are recovered.
This month we are celebrating the marriage of Christine to Ken and I would like to say congratulations and wish them a happy life together.  We will be doing something special at the meeting to celebrate.
Next month sees our AGM and BBQ and it seems this year is just flying by.
I blame our Time Lords I think they are manipulating time.
Talking of Time Lords don’t forget to vote for the Ultimate Ruler on the website.  It is Harold Saxon against Nathan Petrelli and I am sure we will be hearing a lot from both campaign managers.  Also have you checked out the website recently?  Emma has as usual done a great job updating it and there is so much to look at.
Finally don’t forget to let Emma and Jaz have your news etc for the newsletter and website.

April 2008
Hi everyone
I hope you all had a good Easter.  Well we had a quiet meeting in March but still very enjoyable and it was good to see in a new face in the shape of Kevin Chapman who had found us through our website.  He had also met Steve at the Starfleet Ball he had also had his picture taken with Derek Wheatland.
That leads me very nicely into my next bit of news.  Following the suggestion at the meeting and the approval of the committee I asked Derek if he would consider being our club President and Andre our Vice-President.  Derek was very pleased to accept and he will ask Andre but felt he would be delighted to.  Derek also said he would write a piece occasionally for the Newsletter more or less a Presidents Blog telling us what he has been up to.
The second piece of news is that Steve Woods has resigned as First Officer and this post has been filled by The Adjudicator (a k a Lisa Harrington.) I would like to thank Steve personally for the good job he did as my First Officer.  I am sure our new Time Lord will settle in well.
This month sees the implementation of some new ideas and return of some old ones and we hope this will make the club the dynamic one it was before.  Full details will be given at the briefing and also in the newsletter.

March 2008
Hi everyone
Well I have actually managed to make the newsletter this month.
I hope you have all been as pleased with the new venue as I have.  It is a much more welcoming place and I can’t remember the last time I had to throw people out rather than them all leaving early.
It is a very comfortable place with lots of room for activities.  I thought the space hopper races in January worked well and congratulations to James on winning.  Did he manipulate the time I wonder?
It has also been good to welcome our friends from LOTNA to the meetings.  Their presence has made a difference as well and I hope they continue to join us.
As you all know we were talking about holding the Cocktail party on the 12th July or 28th June.  We are also trying to get Jeremy Bullock (Star Wars / Starhyke) as our guest but he can’t do either of those dates so I will keep you informed.  He is coming back to me with some other dates and we will sort it then.
We were also contacted recently by an art director from the BBC about a new sitcom they are doing a pilot for.  It is set in a games shop in Clacton, and the guys running it are sci fi fans.  We were asked if they could use some of the photos from our website to decorate the shop and Neil the art director ended up coming up to Emma’s 2 weeks ago and taking away 4 boxes of memorabilia, books, pictures and Steve’s game to dress the set.  It also meant a donation into club funds and we are hoping for a mention in the credits.  We were promised a copy of the show so hopefully we will be able to show it to you.  We await the results now and to see if it will be made into a series.  The production company is Talkback Productions and the producer is Dewi Humphries who my friend Alan, who came in January, has worked with and respects very much.
As you know we are always looking for ways to make the club better and sometimes we have to look back at what worked before, so if anyone has anything that we used to do and you would like to see again please let me know before the 22nd when we have our next committee meeting.
