To outsiders ‘Klingon’ or as it is sometimes called ‘Klingonese’ often has a guttural sound. But to Klingons, our language seems quite beautiful and has been used to write both stories and epic poetry, much of it of a romantic nature.

A great poet in Klingon culture is known as a baSaI Master.

Klingons are also known to use a form of verbal shorthand known to Grammarians as ‘Clipped’ Klingon. It’s this shortened form of the language, which is used aboard Klingon vessels, and upon the battlefield, for the giving of, and responding to orders.
