Space above and beyond was created by Glen Morgan and James Wong and ran on the US Fox Network for only a single season (24 Episodes) from 24^th. September 1995 to 2^nd. June 1996.

Set in the year 2063 six years after the AI (Artificial Intelligence) Wars the series follows the adventures of a number of young U.S.M.C. (United States Marine Corp) pilots. These Pilots are based on the USS Saratoga SCVN 2812 a John F. Kennedy Class Deep space Carrier during the Chigg wars. These pilots are attached to 58^th.  United States Marine Corp Air and Space Cavalry, Known as the Wild Cards. They Fly the Impressive SA-43 an Endo/Exo Atmospheric Attack Jet, known as a Hammerhead due to its distinctive shape.

Morgan Weisser as 1^st. LT. Nathen West.  Callsign ‘King of Hearts.’

Rodney Rowland as 1^st.LT. Cooper Hawkes. Callsign ‘Jack of Spades’

Lanei Chapman as 1^st. LT. Vanessa Damphousse. Callsign  ‘Ace of Hearts’

Joel de la Fuente as 1^st. Lt. Paul Wang.  Callsign ‘Joker’

It’s these pilots who have defend humanity from an Alien race known as Chiggs, because they look like Chiggers, a slang term for a Cockroach. They do this while trying to overcome many personal losses, and trying to get along with each other. This isn’t made any easier when they learn that one of their fellow pilots and their commanding officer are ‘Tanks’ a Derogatory term for In-vitros, these are artificially bred humans, grown in tanks, at an artificially accelerated rate.
