These powers in fact come from micro Bio-implants, within
the Technomages bodies. There have been many Technomages throughout history
including:-
Galen - As played by - Peter Woodward
Elric - As played by - Michael Ansara
Alwyn - As played by - Edward Woodward
Isabelle - As played by - Sophie Ward
They have been seen to use Fireballs; shield spells to
protect themselves, invisibility, telepathy, telekinesis and monstrous
hallucinations among others.
Often their very presence was enough to scare their
enemies. They often reinforced this fear by using phrases like. “Do not try
the patience of Wizards; they are subtle and quick to anger.” – Elric.
And :- “We are the dreamers, shapers, singers and makers.
We study the Mysteries of Laser and Circuit, and Crystal and Scanner,
Holographic Demons and invocations of equations. These are the tools we
employ, and we know many things. Fourteen words to make someone fall in love
with you forever. Seven words to make them go without pain. How to say
goodbye to a friend who is dying. How to be poor. How to be rich. How to
rediscover Dreams when the World has stolen them from you. – Elric.
Technomages are said to predate the Centuri Republic;
which probably goes someway to explaining the Centuri superstition, that it
is unlucky to see more than one Technomage at a time.
For all their powers, most of the Technomages fled to the
Stars, (to the furthest parts of the Universe.) Fearing the coming of a
great storm. They claimed, that they did this to preserve their knowledge.
For those who wish to venture further along the path to
enlightenment on the subject of Technomages. You can read ‘The Passing of
the Technomages.’ A trilogy of books by Jeanne Cavelos.
